Patches of Life

captures the heart warming stories of our client Jessie’s mother, Marie Weis.

The memoir records Marie's memories growing up in rural Minnesota as the second of 12 children. After graduating from Rush City High School in 1950, she joined the Marines with her sister Grace. Later, she served as one of the first six women sent to Oahu, Hawaii to establish a Women's Base on the island.  After serving, she graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked as a Social Worker. Marie passed her open heart and love for all humanity on to her three children.

Mom Even Said

was commissioned by Betty Quick Church’s oldest daughter, Sara, to capture her mother’s life stories as a mother of eight children, advocate for women’s education, non-traditional college student, and as a pastor.

The memoir artfully weaves Betty's written stories with the historical context of the decade.  Betty was an author at heart, her lifetime of writing was incorporated into the memoir as a gift to future generations.

Livin’ in God’s Country records the stories of our client Jane’s father, Keith Tryggestad.

The memoir captures life transitions from growing up in the oat fields of Wisconsin, to working as an engineer at the Ford plant in St. Paul.  Keith truly enjoyed telling stories capturing his love of family, faith and sports.
